Leaders in Sustainable Transport

The Scania Evolution Program prepares key talents to take on a broader managerial role. The program develops and enhances your general management and leadership skills from a multi-functional perspective. It will help you boost performance in your business today and prepare you and Scania to sustain performance in a constantly changing business environment.

In order to become the “Leaders in Sustainable Transport”, The Scania Evolution is a crucial step in the Scania talent development pipeline and has been co-developed with SSE Executive Education. The Scania Evolution Program allows for a focused effort in order to accelerate the “shift” that Scania is looking for. Main building blocks of that shift are:
Excellence in core, Strategic Bets and “Holy cows”, which we from hereafter call “Kill your darlings”. The Scania Evolution Program is international, intercultural and cross functional.

The goals of the Scania Evolution Program

During three intense, transformative modules you will broaden your core business knowledge in areas such as strategy, marketing and finance. At the same time, you will develop new thinking in areas such as business models, eco-system thinking, digitization and innovation in order to be equipped for the transformation that Scania needs to make happen.

You will be working with the expertise of colleagues from a wide variety of functional areas, cultures and geographical regions. You will equally be exposed to understand- ing the realities, challenges and solutions of other industries (members of the Consortia portfolio) as you work through benchmarking activities to enhance your own insights.

Upon completion of the program you will have enhanced your ability to head up a team in a multinational context and reinforced your cross-cultural communication skill base. Dedicated Scania projects will create opportunities to make a real contribution to the strategic and organizational growth of the company.

Your profile

The target group is key talents at Scania. Program design and content

The main feature of the Scania Evolution Program is its emphasis on creating future value for Scania:

Excellence in core
A substantial part of the program is devoted to financial analysis and strategy. It will help you understand how the Scania strategy, core competencies and operational efficiency are reflected in the financial statements of the company.

Strategic Bets
We focus on how a company’s financial position enables or restricts, allows or limits its future development. Any company in a transition needs to develop a portfolio of new ventures while fuelling innovation with the current business activities.

Kill your darlings
In a competitive landscape, a business has to continuously rethink its business models and strategies and be prepared to change. These topics are awarded special attention in the program. We focus on ways to broaden insights in societal change at large, non-conventional ways of addressing needs of consumers and customers alike and explore new eco-systems that focus on desired outcomes rather than the means.

The Scania Evolution program will enhance your learning within the following key areas:

  • Financial Analysis and Strategy
  • Business Strategy and Competitive Strategy
  • Business Models and Business Development
  • Operations Management and Business Control
  • Trends and Societal change
  • Innovation
  • Digitalization
  • Ethics and Robotics
  • Leadership for Excellence
  • Networking and Pluralism
  • Change Management
