Bo Becker

Bo Becker is Professor of Finance at Stockholm School of Economics/Swedish House of Finance (SHOF) and Faculty Research Fellow at the National Bureau of Economics Research (NBER). He holds a Ph.D. from the University of Chicago, and has previously been on the faculty of the University of Illinois and Harvard Business School. Prof.

Becker’s research concerns the institutions and functioning of corporate credit markets. Recent articles have considered credit ratings, restructuring and bankruptcy, and reaching for yield by corporate bond investors.

At SSE, he teaches “Corporate Finance” and “Mergers and Acquisition”. He has previously taught courses on various corporate finance topics, including restructuring, at all levels. He has acted as an advisor to financial institutions and regulators, including the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) and the Swedish Ministry of Finance.
